Providing the stability, preservation and protection…

..of 150 year old oak barrels, in a highly efficient and concentrated form.

150 year old oak trees are able to avoid rotting, breaking down and spoiling in all types of harsh conditions from hot and dry to wet and cold. It is these same characteristics that allow our wood extract, BrewShield to provide a natural potent stabiliser in beer.

The congeners and phenolics contained in BrewShield are powerful anti-oxidants that assist in protecting your beer. They scavenge any neutralizing oxidant reactions before they can affect the beer, strengthening the phenol and protein bonds inside to produce more resilient molecular structure in the beer without changing the appearance, taste and aroma.

Avoiding the inevitable flavor change in your beer ?

Brewshield has been developed to provide flavor stability to your beer this is a function of two critical elements, the preservation of desired flavors in your beer and the elimination of unwanted flavour, both of which brought about through the ageing and oxidation of your beer.

The Craft Brewing Challenge

Craft Brewers suffer some critical challenges in maintaining the necessary environment to ensure beer freshness and stability.

Proven Science behind Brewshield

The latest and most advanced scientific testing and evaluation of beer staling was applied in testing the impact of Brew Shield on beer stability.

Beer staling takes place in the presence of “transition metals” in beer such as Copper, Iron & Managanese, many of which are naturally delivered through grains and malts. These metals react with oxygen to create highly reative “free radicals” that then react with the beer resulting in it oxidizing.

Brew Shield is shown to quench these reactive elements resisting the natural process of beer staling. VLB in Berlin, a top European beer laboratory carried out independent Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) testing on a standard lager style beer using three different concentrations of Brew Shield against a sample and scientifically demonstrated a 77% reduction in all oxidative indicators of staling.

We have a comprehensive white paper covering the science behind staling and results of testing. Contact us for more information.

Dosing BrewShield

  • Shake the container prior to opening

  • Measure out a quantity of Brew Shield

  • Add BrewShield at WHIRLPOOL

  • Alternately dose in the BRIGHT TANK

STOAK DOSING RATIOS

Brewshield has high potency and outstanding antioxidant qualities, requiring small dosing quantities (flip to view)

DOSE AS FOLLOWS

  • Dose at a rate of 1.5ml per Litre of beer
  • Dose at a rate of 6 fl Oz per Barrel of beer
  • Dose at a rate of 176ml per barrel of beer
  • Dose at a rate of 1.5 parts per thousand
Very small dosages of Brew Shield are required, as our extract is already in a highly concentrated liquid form. This makes measuring and adding really simple, no premixing or dissolving necessary. Brewers can fine tune the delivery of BrewShield as they wish and deliver the exact output they require (dosing shown here is all in mL dosed in 1L of beer or at a ratio of 1.5:1000)
0Gallons of beer
From only 1.3 gallons of product
0Liters of beer
From only 5L of product
0Beer Bottles
From only 5L of product

“The result of dosing Brew Shield in all of our products has been extraordinary. We have seen unprecedented levels of stability allowing us to manage shelf life, stock inventory and recalls to levels I have not experienced. Dosing was simple and easy to execute while providing us with the confidence that customers always taste our beer at its best.”

Impact on your beer

Brewers spend huge effort on perfecting their brewing recipes and the taste of their finished beer. Crucial to all brewers is to make sure that this is not interfered with in any way. Crucial to this is ensuring that BrewShield does not alter the beer.

BrewShield has been used by Brewers for many years and does not affect the Flavor, Aroma or Colour of the beer. Head and body proteins are not affected and the beer retains its original structure to untreated beer.

The only real change is that your beer will retain the same flavor profile as when it was made, far beyond that of untreated beer.
